LocalPlaces.com is a tourist information site with a difference, as it is also a business directory and more! As with any other tourism site, we list the travel essentials such as hotels, guest houses, pubs, restaurants, and local places to visit. However, we are also expanding our database with other useful information on the local areas, for example - retail shops and services such as dry cleaners and hairdressers, doctors and vets.  To make it easier for you to take a look around, we invite all advertisers to supply a photograph of their business, to allow you to build a view of the local area - ultimately down to high street level (given enough coverage of the area!). We also include a picture gallery for each area, links to local websites, lists of local events, and local travel information for example. All together, this information and the numerous pictures displayed will allow you to see the area and get a feel for the local character and ambiance of the area, perhaps before deciding to take a UK holiday or short break in that area.
